The vine growing
Nowadays, the Léguillette-Romelot Champagne House grows 8 hectares of vines in the villages of Charly-sur-Marne, Crouttes-sur-Marne, Villiers-Saint-Denis and Gland.
Since 2015, the Léguillette-Romelot House has carried the “Clos du Mont Dorin” label. Beyond the three traditional grape varieties of Champagne (Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay), they chose to bring back three old varieties: Pinot Blanc, Petit Meslier and Arbanne. They try to make the best of those grapes to give the champagne a unique aroma.
Vat-room and packaging
The champagne cellar in Charly-sur-Marne was built in June 2006 and was first used for the vinification in 2007.
Modern and practical, it fits perfectly in the winery and has a green roof to keep the temperature stable.
Besides the five enameled steel vats that belonged to the grandfather of the Romelot family, the Léguillette-Romelot Champagne House owns 15 all stainless-steel vats.
The champagne bottles are stored in the winery. The packaging line has been modernized to be more practical.
